clinical supervision

for LMSW’s

Hi, I’m Griselda—or “G” for short. I offer clinical supervision for LMSWs seeking to deepen their clinical skills, strengthen their professional identity, and work toward full licensure with confidence. My approach is collaborative, reflective, and grounded in trauma‑informed, culturally responsive practice. Together, we explore real cases, ethical decision‑making, boundaries, and the practical realities of working in diverse clinical settings. Supervisees can expect a supportive space to grow, receive constructive feedback, and develop the competence and clarity needed to provide high‑quality, client‑centered care.

In Texas, LMSW’s that are seeking full licensure (LCSW) are required to:

Complete 100 hours of supervision,

at least 4 hours/month,

alongside 3,000 hours of clinical work,

&

over a minimum of 24 months, but no more than 48 months

Supervisees are required to carry professional liability insurance for the duration of the supervision.

my style

My supervision style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in Relational Cultural Theory. I believe growth happens in relationship, and that good supervision includes honesty, curiosity, and the ability to laugh a little when the work gets heavy (because it does). Supervision focuses on case consultation, self-reflection, and ethical practice in a supportive, down-to-earth space. I encourage supervisees to develop their own clinical style, clarify what feels authentic and sustainable, and grow into the kind of clinician they actually want to be—not a carbon copy of anyone else. This supervision is focused on professional growth and ethical practice, not LCSW exam prep.

my inspiration

Like many people, I kind of fell into social work. I didn’t grow up knowing what it was or that you could even get a degree in it. A friend once said, “I can see you being a social worker—you like to help people,” and next thing I knew, I was walking into the UT School of Social Work. Once I started the coursework, my eyes were opened to the systems I had lived within, the bubble I didn’t realize I was in, and the many people who supported my parents and family throughout my childhood. Social work gave language and meaning to experiences I had always felt but hadn’t fully understood.

That perspective shapes how I approach supervision. I see supervision as a relational, collaborative space where learning happens through reflection, curiosity, and honest conversation. I value case consultation, ethical practice, and supporting supervisees in developing a clinical style that feels authentic and sustainable. My goal is to offer supervision that feels supportive, human, and grounded in relationship—because that’s where real growth happens.
