My Therapy Style

What’s something you wish everyone knew about mental health?
Mental health is not about fixing what is “wrong” with you. It is about understanding how you learned to adapt and developing new ways to respond that support the life you want now.
-
What therapeutic modalities or techniques do you love using, and why?
I use an integrative, trauma-informed approach that emphasizes relational attunement, nervous system awareness, and identity development. Rather than relying on a single technique, I focus on understanding how survival experiences shape patterns in relationships, behavior, and self-perception. I believe meaningful change happens when insight and lived experience come together. In our work, clients develop awareness of their internal responses while also practicing new ways of relating to themselves and others. This combination helps build regulation, clarity, and a stronger sense of personal agency so change is not just understood intellectually but felt and sustained in everyday life.
-
What’s your approach to therapy in one sentence?
I help people understand how their experiences have shaped their patterns so they can build more choice, clarity, and agency in how they live and relate to others.
-
If you weren’t a therapist, what job would you have?
I would probably be a historian. I love learning, researching, and understanding the stories that shape people and places.
-
What is something that always makes you smile?
My cats when they have the zoomies don’t just make me smile, they crack me up every single time.
-
What is your favorite way to unwind after a long day?
In my free time, you’ll usually find me gardening, reading, crafting, or enjoying quiet time with my family and our three cats.
