a little bit about me…

I was born in San Jose, California and eventually found my way to Pflugerville, Texas, where my life centers around family, creativity, and the quiet routines that keep me grounded. I come from a culturally mixed background that shapes how I understand identity, belonging, and the systems we move through. I earned my Master of Science in Social Work from Texas State University, and my career has been shaped by roles that require depth, compassion, and presence. I also work as the Therapeutic Support in a long-term residential program for survivors of sex trafficking, an experience that reinforces my belief in steady, humanizing, non-judgmental care.

People often describe me as warm, calming, thoughtful, and deeply relatable. I value relationships that feel genuine and meaningful. I'm drawn to the richness of how people think, feel, and make sense of their inner world. I love early, quiet mornings with tea or coffee, when the house is still and I can read, reflect, and let my mind wander before the day begins.

Outside of work, I’m a homebody who enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, writing, researching, playing tabletop games, and needlework like knitting and crocheting. History and creativity both anchor me, as do the small rituals that make home feel like a sanctuary. I share my life with my husband Chris, our four sons, and our three cats, Luci, Luna, and Willow.

A small quirk about me: sometimes when I can’t land on the right word, I just make one up. It usually happens when I’m thinking deeply and trying to capture something that doesn’t quite fit a neat definition. In a way, it reflects how I move through life. When things get stuck or heavy, we often need a little creativity, humor, or a new way of seeing to make something different possible. That same spirit has shaped my own life. I’ve had to rebuild more than once, and I understand what it means to grow from places you never asked to start from. I believe in therapy because I’ve seen how powerful it can be both professionally and personally.
